Go Slow

Wearing: thrifted top, Valleygirl shorts, Esprit bag, Salt water sandals

So, it's been 2 months since my last post. Oops. I actually went into the summer holidays with the intention of blogging a lot more, but I spent most of January tucked up into bed. I won't get into it because it's tremendously boring but I got really sick. After a couple of doctors appointments, a blood test here and there, I got placed on some meds and hopefully by the end of the month I should be 100% fine!

School has started again and as you would imagine, things are a little crazy. It's only been two weeks and work has already begun piling up.  I'm just starting to realise  that my results from this year actually matter and if I'm honest, I'm really, really scared. VCE, you suck.

I know I keep promising this, but I'll try to keep posting more frequently this time around!

Wearing: thrifted + DIY dress, vintage jacket, Vans

Hello, hello, hello! So, as you can probably tell, I am finally back after a long break from the space. I've just been a little confused as to what kind of content I want to post and not just posting for the sake of it. I kind of hit a wall in terms of ideas and went through a typical angst filled " I hate everything" phase (I actually have some particularly embarrassing draft posts documenting this that will never see the light of day) . Anyway, now that exams are over and  it's summer,  it's going to a bit easier to get back to regular posting.I decided to put together a little summer playlist  (or winter playlist in the northern hemisphere) you'll be glad to know that I've finally gotten out of my little Arctic Monkeys bubble I've been in for the past year, so there's a little variation, but not a lot. Any suggestions?
Be warned, this playlist contains the kind of music you listen whilst sprawled out on your kitchen tiles because it's too hot outside...

In Transit- Albert Hammond Jr
Unattainable- Little Joy
12:51- The Strokes
Under Control- The Strokes
Someday- The Strokes
The Time Has Come Again- The Last Shadow Puppets
505- Arctic Monkeys
No Buses- Arctic Monkeys
No.1 Party Anthem- Arctic Monkeys
Forever- Haim

Wearing: thrifted top, DIY parka. Timberland + DIY shorts, H&M boots

So I'm currently typing this as I'm procrastinating starting my biology assignment (seems like a common theme through my blog..) Anyway, I started sewing this jacket a couple of months back for winter, but my sewing skillzz aren't that great, so I spent a lot of time seam ripping, unpicking and even cutting out more pattern pieces and here I am, a whole season late. I'm hoping to get some wear about it before the weather turns boiling. Speaking of seasons, it's finally spring here and Melbourne, and whilst I do love all of the pretty flowers, I do not particularly enjoy hayfever.
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend,
xx Isabelle

Hard to Explain

Wearing: Zara cardigan, vintage dungarees, boots from the markets, DIY top

Hello! So I've been a little absent from this space for a bit because 1. the relentless cold weather means that the only items of clothing I'm willing to pull on is sweat pants and a hoodie 2. my onesie arrived a couple of weeks ago, which means I've been living in it and 3. I am very, very lazy.

So as per usual, not much has been happening in my life, I had a a crazy week of assessment last week, lusted after tickets to Tavi's talk at Melbourne Writer's Festival, started re-reading the Harry Potter series and turned 16. My birthday was lovely, there was a lot of cake and food with the people I love most, I do have photos, but most of them is unfortunately of me stuffing my face- definitely not the most attractive thing in the world.

Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to post more regularly from now on!

Hazardous Terrain

Wearing: Pins & Needles blouse, thrifted jumper, SASS shorts, Primark brogues

If you've been reading this blog for a bit, you'll know that this is probably one of my most favourite places to take photos. I guess someone decided one day that planting a two rows of different trees near a farm would be a good idea. While it does make for a pretty background, it also sort of feels like the trees are giving you a guard of honour when you walk through- in all seriousness.

I go back to school in two days, and all I can say with candour is that these holidays have probably been my most unproductive. I finished work experience and then proceeded to drown in tumblr, youtube and my found-again love, The Sims. No shame.
The only things I seemed to have achieved was the realizing how good peanut butter is on wafer-thin crackers (actually, it's good on anything) and how to coax my hair into a  (relatively) neat-ish side braid  via this tutorial-my life is so exciting, I know.
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
